Shakespuss debuts on BBC Radio WM

At around 6.30pm on Radio WM's Paul Franks Show, we finally got the chance to tell as many people as possible in the West Midlands all about our little furry friend, Shakespuss!

Melissa took to the airwaves to explain the concept and introduce our little hero Shakespuss.

The three book were discussed… Monsters, The Three Boxes and Puck's Magic Flower, explaining that each story book centres on one small aspect of one of Shakespeare’s plays.

Most importantly telling the story in a simple and concise way but still making it a good story that young children will enjoy and understand, whilst introducing them to the wonders of Shakespeare.

An example being the new book 'A Tricky Letter' which is based on Shakespeare’s play, ‘Twelve Night’ but specifically tells the story of the letter that’s dropped to trap the character ‘Malvolio’ and ultimately gets him to make a fool of himself.

Wonderfully illustrated by Melissa and retold by Shakespeare’s little white cat, Shakespuss and his animal friends.

Let’s hope this is the start of something big for Shakespuss and all his friends and Radio WM will just be the start of many surprise appearances for Melissa!
