Master Blogger

A real love of the English language

So, this is a blog, and I bet you think it is only here because of computers! Well, yes, I suppose you are only reading it because you have a computer or a tablet, true, but the idea of a blog is way older. In fact I belong to the master of the blog, and he was writing over 400 years ago, and they certainly didn't have computers then.

I say he is the master blogger, because he has a real love of the English language, and I guess his writing seems to reach more people around the world than any blogger using the internet! Okay, so now you think it's going to be some boring, stuck up, old person, but that's not actually so.

He tells the most fantastic stories, full of fun and mystery, and the most wonderful love stories too - the kind of things all our lives are made up of to a greater or lesser degree. We all know those moments, but only some people are capable of writing them down, moulding the words to shape them into a wonderful thing. Well, that's my master!

The best part is I get to hear them before anyone else. I don't think he believes I can understand what he says, but he seems to like reading the stories out loud to me as he goes along. I carry on pretending to be asleep, or licking my feet, but all the time I am listening carefully and remembering them for later. That's when it gets to be a lot of fun. I have a lot of different friends who can't wait to hear the stories once I have heard them. Then we all get together and play out the parts, pretending to be the people in the story.

Oh, by the way, you might be wondering how I manage to lick my feet… or should I say paws?! … I'm William Shakespuss, and my master is a famous writer called William Shakespeare. He wrote absolutely loads of plays. Plays are when people play at being the people in a story, they are called actors. I suppose you could say me and my friends are actors, but really we just like having fun.
